Violence Intervention and Treatment Program
The Violence Intervention and Treatment Program at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is currently recruiting individuals 18 and over to train to become Volunteer Advocates. During the course of a 40 hour training, advocates will be trained to provide crisis intervention, advocacy, information and supportive assistance to victims of sexual and domestic violence in the Emergency Department of Wyckoff Heights Medical Center.
Upon the conclusion of the training and the completion of medical clearance, advocates will be on-call via pager or phone at least twice a month and will report to the Emergency Department if contacted. Due to the critical nature of these cases, advocates must be able to respond to the emergency room within 30 minutes of being contacted. For more information, please call 718-906-3857.
