Healing Activity November Drop-In Group: Writing Workshop for rape survivors & allies

Safe Horizon

This workshop will help you harness the written word as a powerful tool for reclaiming and naming one's own truths in healing trauma. Through readings and writing, participants will embrace the transformative power of their own creativity. We will read and discuss poems from the why and later, a collection written by women about rape and sexual assault, edited by Carly Sachs. We will then awaken the voice within through brief writing exercises, followed by a time for compassionate listening during which participants will have the opportunity to share their words. This workshop is intended to help you take the first steps toward using writing as a healing path.

Carly Sachs is a Kripalu Certified Yoga Teacher with a special certification in Trauma Sensitive Yoga. She is the editor of the anthology, The Why And Later. Please visit her website: for more information about healing on and off the page and the yoga mat!
