Tuesday, Nov 17, 11:30am: Join rally with Gloria Steinem in support of proposed paid-sick-days bill being considered by City Council

I plan to attend the following.  Hope you can join me.

In Solidarity,
Jerin Alam
National NOW Young Feminist Task Force
NOW – NYS Young Feminist Task Force Co-Chair
Imagine it: Standing on the steps of City Hall with Gloria Steinem herself, demanding change that will help women and families across the city. This is something you don't need to just imagine; it's something you can actually do! On Monday, November 16, at high noon, Gloria Steinem will be speaking at a city-hall-steps rally in support of the proposed paid sick days bill currently being considered by the City Council.

Join her!

What: Paid Sick Days Rally with Gloria Steinem
When: Tuesday, November 17, 11:30am
Where: City Hall steps http://council.nyc.gov/html/calendar/directions.shtml
RSVP and more information:  katie@momsrising.org

Come for the rally, stay for the paid sick days hearing at 1pm where City Council Members will discuss the bill.

Why Paid Sick Days?  Over a million workers in New York City do not have access to paid sick time at their job to deal with their own or their family's health needs or to address domestic violence issues. Hard-working families deserve better and, with your help, we can change that.

The paid sick time bill makes it possible for virtually every worker in New York City to take time off from work when they or a family member are ill without being penalized.

We hope to see you at Tuesday's rally and hearing!
