GOOD News: Military Pregnancy Policy to be Rescinded. NOW spoke out and made a difference for women in the military.

US Military Pregnancy Policy to be Rescinded. NOW spoke out and made a difference for women in the military.

The policy adopted by Gen Cucolo in Northern Iraq, making a soldier's pregnancy an offense punishable by court martial, is being rescinded.  See the article at http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/26/us/26military.html

NOW spoke out against the policy and four women senators, Barbara Boxer, Barbara Mikulski, Jeanne Shaheen and Kirsten Gillibrand, called on the Secretary of the Army to rescind it.  The Senators' letter to Secretary McHugh is at http://boxer.senate.gov/en/press/releases/122209.cfm
