URGENT: Please CALL THE SENATE TODAY about reproductive rights in healthcare reform

The Senate is in final negotiations on the health care reform bill – as you know, there have been numerous proposals on the table that would severely restrict a woman's fundamental right to access abortion care, and we need you to contact your United States Senators today!

Negotiations have reached a feverish pitch, and anti-choice legislators are pressuring leadership to betray the women of this country in order to close the deal and pass the bill.

We need every single one of you to reach out today to Senator Charles Schumer, who has been a lead negotiator in drafting language for the overall bill. Senator Schumer can be reached at 202-224-6542. When you reach the Senate office, introduce yourself, let them know who you are [supporter, constituent, friend, etc.] and reinforce the following message:

"I strongly urge the Senator to oppose any language in the health care reform bill that will restrict women's access to abortion coverage."

Forward this email to all of your family, friends and colleagues, especially those who live outside of New York, and ask them to call their Senators today.  They can call the capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121 and tell the operator that they would like to be connected to the Senators from their state.

Thank you for your on-going commitment and willingness to take action in support of true reproductive choice.
