We use art, education and action to challenge cultural norms that encourage violence and ignore the spectrum of sexual abuse.  We create an awareness and response to any injustices victims, survivors and their communities suffer.

16 Days Campaign to End Gender Violence

"Attorney.org contacted every organization in the United States that participated in the 16 Days Campaign since its inception and selected several to highlight using a formula that factored in not only the scope of the organization's campaign, but factors involving the human element. For example, PAVE was selected because of how its founder, Angela Rose, used her personal experiences involving violence against women as the catalyst for creating her organization." UN Efforts to End Violence
Men Combating Violence Against Women

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The United Nations is launching a network of male leaders to combat global violence against women.

"I call on men & boys everywhere to join us. Break the silence. When you witness violence against women and girls, do not sit back. Act. Advocate. Unite to change the practices and attitudes that incite, perpetrate and condone this violence." said U.N. Secretary Gen. Ban Ki-Moon

Each member of the network will support the UNiTE campaign which aims to accomplish the following by 2015:

1) Establish national laws to address and punish all forms of violence against women and girls  2) Create and implement multi-sectoral national action plans 3) Strengthen data collection on the prevalence of violence against women and girls 4) Increase public awareness and social mobilization 5) Address sexual violence in conflict

Darkness To Light
Prevention Training

Children are the victims in nearly 70% of all reported sexual assaults.  The median age for child sexual abuse is 9 years old.  Most child victims never report the abuse.  The effects may haunt victims for years, increasing the likelihood of drug and alcohol abuse, eating disorders, teen pregnancy, violent crime and suicide.

We can prevent this! There is a strong need for leaders in every community to educate adults, parents and children about sexual abuse and how to spot the warning signs.

STEP UP & SPEAK OUT in your community.

Date: Saturday, January 9th  10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Location: Celebration Ministries,  424 Indianwood Blvd., Park Forest, IL 60466
