Funding Opportunity for Youth Projects: Underserved Teen Victims Initiative
National Center for Victims of Crime
Funding Opportunity for Youth Projects
Underserved Teen Victims Initiative
The National Crime Prevention Council and the National Center for Victims of Crime are seeking applicants for the Underserved Teen Victims Initiative. This initiative, supported by a grant from the Office for Victims of Crime of the U.S. Department of Justice, seeks to raise awareness about and provide resources to teen victims in underserved populations.
Twenty-five community youth-adult teams will be selected for the 2010-2011 school year. Each team will receive up to $2,500 to plan and implement a youth-led public awareness campaign. Campaign projects may include public service announcements, poster campaigns, Web sites, workshops, or assemblies. Each site selected to participate in Underserved Teen Victims Initiative will send two youth and one adult to a training in August 2010. The National Crime Prevention Council and the National Center for Victims of Crime will provide ongoing training and support to all teams throughout the project.
