PAVE shatters the silence of sexual violence through social awareness, educational outreach, and legislative efforts. By being both prevention and awareness focused, PAVE works on all fronts to end sexual violence affecting men, women and children throughout the globe.

We use art, education and action to challenge cultural norms that encourage violence and ignore the spectrum of sexual abuse.  We create an awareness and response to any injustices victims, survivors and their communities suffer.

Empowerment Director Update
Launching The Guys Project

PAVE recently attended the Male Survivor Conference in NYC where I officially launched the Male Empowerment Campaign for PAVE  called The Guys:  Bonding as Survivors and Allies.

This campaign will be an important inclusion to Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) because of its recognition of male survivors. It is true that 1 in 4 women become victims of sexual violence in their lifetime, but one cannot ignore that 1 in 6 boys likewise are victimized before the age of 18.

We need to reach out and create a bond for male survivors with other male allies just as women survivors have their support communities.By engaging men to become involved in the movement against sexual violence our whole society will begin to recognize the scope of this violence and the truth about victimization beyond the stigmas and taboos that plague survivors and maintain silence.

Please join with PAVE as the Male Empowerment Director and show your support by registering in the first project of the campaign called "Hey Man, I Got Your Back."

Jasmine's Law

On March 25, 2010 Jasmine's Law passed the Senate 57-0 and the House 112-0. With Governor Quinn's signature it will be made law!

Denise Rotheimer, Founder of MOMSV and mother of Jasmine, wants to thank all supporting organizations and individuals who helped get this bill where it is today!
Jasmine's Law (HB5640) is crucial legislation seeking to raise minimum sentencing to 11 years, add an additional 11 years to sentencing for the use of alcohol to facilitate a child's rape, and mandate that victims and their families are provided a sign off sheet of their rights at the onset of the criminal process and individuals who helped get this bill where it is today!

Human Trafficking of Children
In the UK, child victims of human trafficking are routinely placed in settings that fail to address their needs as survivors of severe physical, sexual and psychological abuse. Often these children go missing due to the lack of support the find.

End Violence Against Women
Encourage the U.S. to lead the way in ensuring safe and secure futures for women and girls by supporting the Violence Against Women Act. This legislation is a critical step towards helping survivors of sexual violence, protecting those still at risk and preventing future violence. Show your commitment to stopping violence against women around the world by signing this petition.
