Calling all activists -- here's your chance to help spread the word about NOW

Calling all activists -- here's your chance to help spread the word about NOW.
The National Organization for Women, along with some great allies, has partnered with the websites GreatNonprofits and GuideStar. These sites help people make informed decisions about activism and charitable giving by posting information about thousands of organizations nationwide. If you've ever checked out user reviews online before making a major purchase or dining at a restaurant, then you're familiar with the concept behind GreatNonprofits.
This month, they're helping to raise visibility and support for women's issues through the 2010 Women's Empowerment Campaign. The campaign is recognizing the top-rated nonprofits serving and empowering women in our world.
Whether you're a grassroots leader, member, donor, ally or anyone who values the work NOW does, we invite you to participate in the 2010 Women's Empowerment Campaign. You can post a personal review of NOW online where potential members and donors can see it, and if enough supporters rave about us during the month of May, NOW will be prominently featured on this exciting website.
What your review can do:
  • Participation: Encourage new members and contributors to get involved with and support NOW.
  • Recognition: Every organization that gathers 10 or more positive reviews during the month of May will make the GreatNonprofits' Top-Rated Women's Empowerment Nonprofits List.
  • Inspiration: These reviews will give NOW inspiring stories and quotes to use in future emails, publications and on our own website.
In 2009, over 450,000 people read reviews of thousands of nonprofits at -- reviews written by donors, volunteers, board members and by the general public. These reviews are also accessible on GuideStar.
To get started, go to NOW's profile page. Your review can help us build an even stronger movement for women's equality.
Extra credit: If you're a local leader who wants to create a profile for your state or chapter, the folks at GreatNonprofits are happy to help. Just email Emma Bundy and she will assist you in the process.
