Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee Endorses Maloney

 Maloney for Congress

When Americans elected a Democratic majority in 2008, we knew our first duty was to fix our country's broken economy.
Saving the banks and corporations wasn't the goal. We had to make a better deal for every American consumer, and protect the working families who got caught up in dishonest financial schemes.
That's why I'm proud to work with Carolyn Maloney.  She was a crucial member of the team fighting for smart financial regulatory reform. Hammering out the specifics of this historic bill was tough work and we couldn't have gotten it done without her.
She's been a fighter for working families from her days on the New York City Council. Now, she is the House's leading Democrat fighting for stronger consumer protections.  Her Credit Cardholders' Bill of Rights ended unfair, deceptive and anti-competitive practices by credit card companies.
But there's still so much work to be done. We can't afford to lose ground to the special interests and their well-financed friends. I need Carolyn on my team in order to restore balance to our economy.
If we're going to fix our country's economic mess, we need strong fighters like Carolyn to keep at it. It's an issue that America can't afford to ignore – and one I know New Yorkers care about.
Sincerely,
Rep. Barney Frank
Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee

P.S. This is going to be a big election year for us. Show the media and our opponents that key House Democrats have strong grassroots support by volunteering for Carolyn today.
