Cafecito: Contraception as Prevention in Health Care Reform

Health care reform was recently signed into law, but federal officials are currently deciding what preventive care and screenings for women will be included. Still undecided is whether family planning will be included as a preventive health service.

The health care reform legislation details are being decided right now.

Important details, like what counts as "preventive care" are being determined as we speak!
If contraception isn't covered, low-income women's choices will be limited.

If contraception isn't considered preventive medicine, high deductibles and co-pays may keep some of the most effective forms of birth control out of reach for low-income women.
We need to hold leadership to their promises.

Family planning covered 100% by insurance was intended as part the health care reform bill passed in March.  Learn more about what you should expect to get from the new law.
