Senate rejects attacks on Planned Parenthood and family planning!

You did it! Today, the U.S. Senate rejected efforts to defund Planned Parenthood and family-planning services.

The Senate just voted down the House’s proposed budget bill. This is a huge win, and it is only possible because we all worked so hard together. 77,833 of our supporters called and emailed senators, and more than 490 of you shared your stories about visiting a Planned Parenthood health center.

Believe me, this is not over – not by a mile. We have to harness that energy to stop the entire anti-choice War on Women. That’s right – we still face extreme bills in Congress that could change women’s access to abortion and birth control forever. In fact, today a key House committee scheduled a third legislative hearing on H.R.3, the extreme “Stupak on Steroids” legislation, for next week.

Our next step is organizing a 5,000-person pro-choice lobby day in Washington, D.C. on April 7. We will be joined by our partners at Planned Parenthood and other major pro-choice organizations. It’s going to be big, and you really need to be a part of it. Sign up today.

While we beat back attacks on Planned Parenthood and family-planning programs, the hits don’t end there. Anti-choice politicians are pushing legislation that would allow hospitals to refuse to provide women with life-saving abortion care and effectively end insurance coverage of abortion in the new health-care system.

Fight back. Join us for a pro-choice lobby day in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, April 7.

Tell us you’ll be there. We’ll provide training and organize lobby visits with members of Congress in your state.

Thanks for all that you do.

My best,

Nancy Keenan
