Hundreds of Women's Rights Activists to Convene in Baltimore
June 4, 2012
The nation's largest annual gathering of grassroots women's rights activists and allies will take place in Baltimore, Md., on June 29-July 1, 2012, at the National Organization for Women National Conference. Hundreds of women and men will convene to strategize and organize a vision for the months ahead in the fight for women's equality.

"We have seen unprecedented attacks this year on women's health, economic security and even physical safety, including proposed legislation to defund family planning clinics, deny affordable access to birth control, undermine the Violence Against Women Act and cut safety net programs, such as food stamps and Medicaid," said NOW President Terry O'Neill. "Conference participants will help NOW form its agenda for the coming year. As this is a critical election year, we will send activists back to their communities fired up and ready to help elect leaders who will stand up against these attacks on women's basic rights."
