National Organization for Women: News & Action Summary
February 26, 2013
IN THIS ISSUE:

Every four years the National Organization for Women elects its national leaders, and NOW is the time! The election will take place at the 2013 National NOW Conference in Chicago, Ill., July 5-7.
Interested in running for national office? Learn more on the conference website. The first deadline is coming up on March 13 -- when nominations are due for officer tickets that want their information included in a special NOW mailing -- so don't delay! Read more.
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and other Republicans have released an unacceptable version of VAWA that omits many important provisions that are in the Senate-passed bill (S. 47) and even scales back current law. We must defeat the bogus House bill. Please call your House member. Take action NOW!

In honor of this pivotal procession, a number of centennial events are taking place in our nation's capital, including a March 3 reenactment of the historic demonstration, organized by Delta Sigma Theta. Check out all the events.
The Republican House leadership has turned to its ultra-conservative, anti-woman playbook yet again to block passage of an inclusive, bipartisan version of the Violence Against Women Act. Read more.
