Celebrate Women's Suffrage Centennial this Weekend On March 3, 1913, a band of brave suffragists marched down Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C., proudly demanding their right to vote. In honor of this pivotal procession, a number of centennial events are taking place in our nation's capital, including a March 3 reenactment of the historic demonstration, organized by Delta Sigma Theta. The Republican House leadership has turned to its ultra-conservative, anti-woman playbook yet again to block passage of an inclusive, bipartisan version of the Violence Against Women Act.
