|“YOU NEED TO GET A 100 ON THE TEST, NO EXCUSES!”|
“BRO, DO YOU EVEN LIFT?”
“EW, SHE’S SO FAT. WHY DO PEOPLE EVEN LIKE HER?”
“GO BACK TO YOUR COUNTRY.”
“HE’S SO EMO.”
Sound familiar? Well, sometimes the person isn’t strong enough to pick themselves back up and brush the dirt away. Remember Amanda Todd’s story about how she was driven to suicide? Know of any other youth that thought cutting themselves off from the world would help themselves and everyone else around them?
Want to do something about all this bullying and hate?
Well guess what? You can, by attending ARISE NY!
Turning Point for Women and Families is holding its 3rd Annual interactive workshop dedicated to the youth to help stomp out bullying and hate crimes. Our goal is to heighten awareness about bullying, stereotyping, and hate crimes targeting teenagers and to equip them with the tools they need to prevent bullying and promote peaceful coexistence between all.
So, girls and guys, if YOU are a teen between the ages of 13 to 19, bring your friends and come participate and make YOUR voices heard!
*Share your stories & participate in interactive exercises!
*Meet other young leaders & make new friends!
*Watch a performance by Spoken Word Artist from Urban Word NYC
*Listen to Cyrus McGoldrick speak up about against bullying and hate crimes!
*Stay tuned for a special performance by Turning Point’s very own Youth Group!
*FOR THE YOUTH, BY THE YOUTH*
LET’S END THIS CYCLE OF HATE!
