Action Alert: SD violating federal law to take Native kids away from parents

Did you know that the State of South Dakota is kidnapping children from Lakota parents and putting 90% of the kids with non-Native families, in violation of federal law? That's because the State receives $70,000 yearly per Lakota child it puts into foster care.
Please see the short video below by the Lakota People's Law Project's Campaign to Free Lakota Children. My activist friend produced and co-scripted this video with Sundance Award winning Cambodian-American director Kalyanee Mam, called Hearts on the Ground

It has been viewed nearly 15,000 times; and their petition on MoveON has nearly hit 25,000 names, making it among the largest petitions for Native American rights in history.

This issue is really about the trampling of the human rights of the poorest, most disempowered mothers and grandmothers (and children)  in the USA. The profit-driven actions of the SD government is akin to a form of human trafficking.
