Tue, 6/8: Responses to the Gulf Oil Spill: A Public Forum and Planning Meeting
Greater NYC for Change is collaborating with The New School, Sierra Club, Democracy for New York City, and MoveOn for a public forum event this Tuesday, June 8.
Tuesday, June 8, 7 - 9 PM Responses to the Gulf Oil Spill: A Public Forum and Planning Meeting The New School, 65 West 11th St. (near 6th Avenue) Wollman Hall, 5th Floor
RSVP on Facebook
The ongoing oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico poses a major challenge to our society. Who will handle and pay for the clean-up? What can we do to prevent a recurrence? How do we make the transition to clean, renewable energy? These questions must be answered on a national, state, city and personal level.
We will begin with brief remarks from representatives of the sponsoring organizations, then move into discussion groups to brainstorm possible actions, and finish with feedback from attendees and determine next steps. This event is a great opportunity to learn how New Yorkers can get involved and make a difference!
