Join us in our support of our coalition partners at New York Neighbors for American Values and their efforts to promote equality, diversity and religious freedom in our great city. A candlelight vigil will be held Friday, September 10th to support the right of Muslim Americans to build the Park 51 community center in Lower Manhattan. If you would like to participate, please RSVP here.
Time: 7:15pm (sundown) to 10:00pm
Location: Intersection of Church Street and Park Place (click for map)
Participants are encouraged to bring candles and American flags, but no signs. The evening will include music and words of wisdom from faith leaders and elected officials. Please wear white in solidarity and peace.
Everyone is welcome. Please invite your friends and neighbors.
"This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakeable. The principle that people of all faiths are welcome in this country, and will not be treated differently by their government, is essential to who we are. The writ of our Founders must endure." – President Obama
