Earlier this week, NARAL Pro-Choice New York released a report documenting the findings from our investigation into "crisis pregnancy centers" (CPCs), anti-choice facilities that pose as comprehensive reproductive-health clinics to deceive women and spread misinformation about abortion and birth control.
It turns out Republican attorney general candidate Dan Donovan knows all about CPCs.
While working in the office of the Staten Island borough president – including while he was the deputy borough president – Dan Donovan secured grants for the Crisis Pregnancy Center of New York, a CPC in Staten Island, over the course of at least four years. In appreciation for his efforts, the center honored him with an award in 2003.
Dan Donovan has not been upfront with the women of our state. While insisting that he would protect reproductive rights, he has remained silent about his alliance with the anti-choice organizations whose very purpose is to prevent women from accessing the full range of reproductive health care.
How can we trust Dan Donovan's claim that he'll stand up for women's reproductive rights when he has not been honest about standing against us?
