Sat, 3/26: Defend Health Care & the Affordable Care Act & Other Upcoming events
Next week will mark the one year anniversary of President Obama's historic signing of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act into law. Although the biggest provisions of the law don't go into effect until 2014, many important changes have already taken place. For instance, young adults up to age 26 can now stay on their parents' health insurance plans. Individuals with pre-existing conditions, including those who were previously denied insurance coverage, can now buy into state-based high risk pools. Lifetime limits on insurance coverage are now prohibited.
Despite all these current and future benefits, the Republicans continue to mount challenges to this important law—a law which we fought so hard to achieve. Now is the time to come together again to defend and protect the Affordable Care Act.
