Congratulations Illinois!

"The march of progress is never easy; opposition arises and it is often cruel. However, momentum for marriage equality continues to grow as Illinois joins six other states that legalized full marriage rights in 2013. Our activists will continue to fight for marriage equality -- no matter the obstacle -- until all Americans have the right to enjoy the benefits and protections provided by marriage," said NOW Action Vice President Bonnie Grabenhofer. Statement available in full.

20 Week Abortion Ban Introduced in Senate

Senator Lindsay Graham (R-SC) introduced a bill that criminalizes abortions after 20 weeks, a direct and outrageous violation of Roe v. Wade. As the grassroots arm of the women's movement, NOW is mobilizing to fight these attacks on women's bodies and rights. Your support is imperative in our fight to protect women's reproductive rights!

McAuliffe Wins Virginia

Last week, Terry McAuliffe won the Virginia gubernatorial race over women's rights offender Ken Cuccinelli. Thanks to the hard work of Virginia NOW – and the votes of women – Virginians have elected a politician dedicated to protecting a woman's right to control her own reproductive decisions.
